A Fresh Approach to Summer Wedding Flowers….

July 22nd, 2010

Summer is such a vibrant and colorful canvas for a wedding. Why not try complementing it with clean and crisp wedding flowers in fresh greens, and touches of summer yellows and brilliant whites? Using lush green hydrangea, bright citrus green spider mums, cymbidium orchids, and poppy pods, we were able to bring wonderful texture to the elegant color palette and create fantastic florals for a fantastic summer afternoon wedding!

Rockin’ Roll Marathon, 2010

July 15th, 2010

Once again, we got the great opportunity to create florals for the Rockin’ Roll Marathon here in Seattle. It was our own little marathon of sorts, with events spread out over three days in various locations across the city. So much fun! We created florals for the VIP Party at the Experience Music Project, an amazing structure designed by Frank Gehry, as well as arrangements for both the starting line and finish line VIP tents. For the EMP space, we chose a clean and simple color palette of whites and greens with silver accents. The space has so much vibrance and life that we wanted to create something modern and elegant to stand out amongst all the wonderful color. For the finish line and starting line we brought in vibrant reds for a punch of color.  With some of the best weather Seattle has to offer and a record breaking crowd, we could not have had a better time being part of such a fabulous event!

Andrew & Natthacha’s Wedding

June 30th, 2010

Andrew and Natthacha came to us with a vision of something warm, elegant, and intimate. We settled on a color palette of shades of yellows with warm butter cream accents. We used exotic orchids, hydrangea, roses, and local ranunculus, to enhance the unique space of the Seattle Asian Art Museum and create a warm, modern, and elegant event for them. From the glowing bride and groom, to the stunning spring day, to the fantastic reception at Monsoon, every detail was perfect. They were such a delight to work with and we are so excited to be able to share some of their happy day with you.

Lisa and Amado’s Wedding

June 2nd, 2010

There is something so magical about summer evenings in the Northwest and Lisa and Amado’s wedding at the Seattle Golf Club captured it perfectly. From the exquisite view of the mountains to the garlands overflowing with local dahlias, roses and orchids that adorned the doorways, every detail was breathtaking. Lisa and Amado chose a wonderful color palette of fresh greens, soft pinks, and ivory. Focusing on locally and sustainably grown flowers we created arrangements to enhance the expansive rooms at the club and create a fun and modern garden party inside for their guests to enjoy.  It was truly a pleasure to have been a part of such a wonderful and happy occasion.

Seattle Wedding Show

January 20th, 2010

Some of you may know that the Seattle Wedding Show was this past weekend and by all accounts it was a great success!  We had the pleasure of providing florals for The Hyatt Olive 8 who were showcasing their hotel as a beautiful wedding venue.  If you have not been there, it’s a LEED Certified green-built hotel condominium that is not only sustainable but also very stylish.

Photographer, Clane Gessel, took the photos below and we just love how the whole look turned out.  The arrangement we did would be a gorgeous centerpiece for any of you brides thinking of incorporating an organic elements such as branches with the polish of hanging crystals and orchids.

Currently, we are booking much of our summer and early fall, so if you are interested in our services for your big day, then please call to schedule a consultation to ensure that your day is reserved.

willow & bloom Wedding: Kelli & Toby

November 1st, 2009

Wedding season has finally wrapped up at willow & bloom and we are now receiving the professional photographs of the weddings of this past season. We have a couple of our weddings that are now featured on Green Wedding Shoes (www.greenweddingshoes.com) and this is one of them!

We are delighted to share these photos taken by Brooke at Brookelyn Photography (www.brookelynphotography.com), clearly a very talented photographer.

Kelli & Toby wanted flowers inspired by a vintage Parisian color palette, which we translated into soft pinks, soft greys, touches of beige and accents of creamy white. We used a combination of three different rose types, Dusty Miller, dahlias, berries, and fern curls finished with Midori double-faced satin ribbon.

The couple chose a beautifully unique venue, Treehouse Point in Issaquah, Washington and wonderful desserts from Bakery Nouveau and Trophy Cupcakes (my personal favorite cupcake in the whole entire world!).

Rock n’ Roll Event Flowers

July 9th, 2009

If you didn’t happen to see the tens of thousands of runners and hundreds of bands in the streets two weekends ago in Seattle, then you may have heard of the inaugural Rock n’ Roll Marathon on the news.  We were delighted to service the company with florals for their VIP events in Seattle.

The guests were treated to a dinner party the night before the race at the Museum of Flight and we were asked to provide the centerpiece table arrangements in the theme colors, which we think worked very well with the 747′s in the background.

The race started in Tukwila and finished at Qwest Field in downtown Seattle, and while we did not have flowers every two miles with each of the rock bands staged along the way, we did deck out the VIP tents at the starting line, the finish line and at that night’s musical performance by Keb’ Mo’ at Marymoor Park in Redmond.

It was so much fun to be a part of the buzz (without actually having to run the 26 miles that so many brave souls did)!

willow & bloom – Real Life Weddings

June 29th, 2009

We are in the full swing of our wedding season and have some wonderful photos that we have been slow to get loaded onto the web site, so we thought we would share some of our favorites in a series of blog postings.

Rebecca & Glenn celebrated their wedding at The Woodmark Hotel in Kirkland this past April.  We created florals in a vintage-inspired color palette of deep blues, rich pinks, browns and accents of green.  Taking advantage of spring blooms, ceremony arrangements were created with blooming branches complemented by hydrangea, garden roses, berries and orchids.

Rebbecca & Glenn were one of the nicest, easy going couples that we have had the pleasure of working with and we wish them all the best!  They also hired one of our favorite wedding and event planners, Holly Kate at Sweet Pea Events (a true pleasure to work with).

We are waiting on the professional photographs, but in the mean time thought we would share our photos taken by one of our staff.
